What food is Da Nang known for?

Mì Quảng and Nam Ô fish sauce are two local foods on Vietnam's national list of intangible cultural heritage. The making of Nam Ô fish sauce was listed on 27 August 2019, and the folk knowledge of mì Quảng in August 2024.

Mì Quảng is a rice noodle dish served with only a little broth, not a full bowl. It was listed for Quảng Nam province, which has been part of Da Nang since 1 July 2025.

Nam Ô is a fishing village on Da Nang Bay. Its fish sauce got a geographical indication on 3 June 2024, which protects the name by law. In 2024 it was the first one for the city of Da Nang, before the merger with Quảng Nam.

The city's tourism portal also names bánh tráng cuốn thịt heo, pork rolled in rice paper with fresh vegetables, and bún chả cá, fish cake noodle soup, as Da Nang dishes. For bún chả cá, Bún Chả Cá 109 on Nguyễn Chí Thanh makes its fish cakes in the shop.
