The city's tourism portal says visitors and locals call An Thượng “khu phố Tây”, the Western street, because many visitors from abroad come there to live, work and take holidays.
Our advice is to choose the street before the area. A home on a main road is loud from morning until late at night, with dust and fumes too. One or two streets back, the small side streets and alleys are quieter.
