My Khe beach runs along the city. The Son Tra peninsula is about 10 km north east of the city centre, and the five Marble Mountains are to the south.

The money depends more on how you do things than on how much you have. A one bedroom apartment costs about 10,000,000 VND a month if you walk in and ask, and about 15,000,000 through an agent. A comfortable month for one person comes to about 23,500,000 VND, roughly 900 US dollars.

Many people from abroad live in the strip by the beach, from An Hải south to An Thượng. In An Thượng alone, Life of Da Nang has pages for 15 places.

The hard months are at the end of the year. The city government gives the rainy season as October to December, and big storms usually come from September to November. On average, 2 to 3 storms and tropical depressions, which are weaker than storms, affect the city directly each year.

June to August are the hottest months, with average temperatures of 28 to 31.4°C. Electricity costs 500,000 to 2,000,000 VND a month, and the air conditioning decides almost all of it.

There are far more motorbikes than cars. At the end of 2022, before the merger with Quảng Nam, the city had 997,940 motorbikes and 107,424 cars. Vietnam does not accept the International Driving Permit from the 1949 convention, which the United States, Canada and Australia issue. If you ride without a licence Vietnam accepts, your travel and health insurance may stop covering you.
