The day off comes from National Assembly Resolution 28/2026/QH16, passed on 24 April 2026 and in force from 1 July 2026. It adds a sixth public holiday to the year.
The Government decided on 2 October 2026 that it is one day: state offices close on the Tuesday only, with no long weekend made around it. In 2027 it falls on Wednesday 24 November.
