Son Tra Peninsula Open To Visitors Again From 14 October
The board that runs the Son Tra peninsula and the city's tourist beaches opened the peninsula to visitors again on Wednesday 14 October, after the weather settled. Visits had been stopped since 8 October because of the risk of landslides and flash floods.
The board asks visitors to keep to the roads that are open, to stay out of closed areas, and to take care on the steep, winding sections, because the weather can still change.
It also says that trekking and wildlife tours into the protected forest that no authority has licensed are against the rules, and asks people not to book them.

The Bigger Picture: Trees And Parking First For An Thuong's Next Phase
If you live, eat or stay around An Thuong, the city wants to change the plan for the second phase of its tourist street project. On 6 October Tran Nam Hung, a vice chairman of the city, inspected the site and asked for the plan to be studied again.
The first plan had a square, a sports area, a stage, a music fountain, trees and lights. He asked to drop the music fountain and to put trees, public parking and open space first.
The construction department and Ngu Hanh Son ward were asked to look for a site for a public car park with a park. Planners were also asked to look at keeping the pool and the three storey building of the My An sports centre.
Phase two costs about 104 billion dong and is planned to finish at the end of 2027.
