Three New Things To Do At The My Son Temple Towers
In 2025, My Son had 431,538 visits, and only 39,077 were by Vietnamese visitors. Since 25 September 2026, there are three new things to do there.
My Son is a valley with hills all around it, full of temple towers built by the kings of Champa. They started building here in the 4th century and kept building and repairing until the 13th.
The valley has more than 70 temple buildings. UNESCO put My Son on its World Heritage list in 1999.
When Quang Nam and Da Nang became one city in 2025, My Son became part of Da Nang. It is in Thu Bon commune, south of the city centre.
In September 2025, the office that runs My Son said a visit there used to take about one hour. It said a visit now took more than two hours, with the museum, electric shuttle cars, weaving, pottery, hat making and seven Cham dance shows a day.
On 25 September 2026, the same office added three more things to do, all under the name My Son Green.
The first is a garden under the forest trees. It runs along the visitor path from tower group K to towers E and F. It shows local plants, and plants used as medicine, that are part of Cham life.
The second is at the Nha Doi area, outside the temple towers. You can learn about Cham pottery, weaving, making conical hats, and carving wood and stone, and try some of them yourself.
There is also a foot bath with local herbs there, under the trees.
The third is by the lotus pond, on the slope of tower group H. It shows Cham instruments, clothes, photos and old objects.
There you can hear Cham folk songs, two Cham drums called the Ghi-nang and the Paranung, and a wind instrument called the Saranai. You can watch Cham dance, try the instruments, put on Cham clothes and join the folk artists in some of what they do.
My Son is open every day, holidays too. Tickets are sold from 6am to 5pm, and you can also buy them online at mysonticketonline.vn.
On the slope of tower group H there is Cham folk singing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at 9am and 2:45pm.
On the 15th of every month, by the normal calendar and not the lunar one, there is also a show called Echoes of My Son at towers B, C and D, at 9am and 2:45pm. In October 2026, the 15th is a Thursday.
