The Name

Rang means colour. They painted it on the wall:every colour tells a story.

The Room

RANG sits on Vo Nguyen Giap, the beach road through My An. The name means colour, and the wall above the kitchen says where every colour tells a story. Their menu is split in two, and they named the halves themselves: Little Indian on one side, Very International on the other. The interesting food is where those two meet. The chef spent a decade cooking Mediterranean food around the world before turning it back on an Indian kitchen, so the pani puri comes filled with lump crab, avocado and spiced mango water, and the octopus comes out of the tandoor with almond romesco and Vietnamese basil. It took a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2024, the award for very good food at a fair price. Lunch runs 11:30 to 3. Dinner runs 5:30 to 10:30. Book ahead at the weekend.
