Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai

In their words: the beauty lies not only in what surrounds it, but in how it belongs.

A resort made to belong to Central Vietnam: villas inspired by the garden houses of Hue, on Ha My Beach near Hoi An.

About Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai

“The beauty of The Nam Hai lies not only in what surrounds it, but in how it belongs.” That is how the resort tells its own story.

It belongs through the house: every villa is inspired by the garden houses of Hue, with timber frames, flat tiled roofs and a sleeping platform in the middle. It belongs through the design and the land: the architecture and interiors are a play on wind and water, inspired by ancient feng shui and the royal tombs of Tu Duc in Hue, and a two hectare garden grows more than 40 kinds of herbs, vegetables, fruits and edible flowers for the kitchens, bars and spa.

And it belongs through the people: a preserved Ha My fishermen's temple is inside the grounds, every evening the spa says goodnight to the earth with crystal singing bowls, and at its ceremonies handwritten wishes are set afloat on the water.

In 2026 it holds two MICHELIN Keys, and in December it marks ten years as a Four Seasons.

Every Villa

Each villa pays homage to the nha vuon, the garden homes of Central Vietnam.

Large timber frames and patterned panels rise to a pitched roof of flat tiles.

In the middle is a raised platform for sleeping, with nets around it that make it look like a lantern.

The rooms are laid out by phong thuy, the Vietnamese feng shui.

In Their Words

The beauty of The Nam Hai lies

not only in what surrounds it,

but in how it belongs.

Three Pools

Three pools step down toward the beach, with palm trees on both sides.

One is for families, one is for swimming lengths, and one is a quiet pool for adults only.

The Grounds

35 hectares of gardens and one kilometre of beach.

The resort says nearly 80 percent of the grounds are gardens and green space.

Lotus lagoons and shaded paths link the villas to Ha My Beach.

What They Kept

A temple of the Ha My fishermen is kept inside the grounds, for the heritage of the local community.

Every week there is Thap Nen, a candle lighting ceremony.

Every evening there is the Goodnight Kiss to the Earth, when wishes written by hand are set to float on the water.

The resort lists more than 15 cultural experiences from the traditions of Central Vietnam, all complimentary.

The Garden

It began as a small herb patch.

Now the herb and vegetable garden sends herbs, fruit, vegetables and flowers for eating to the restaurants, the bars and the spa.

More than 40 kinds grow through the year, such as basil, lemongrass, papaya and butterfly pea.

Fallen leaves, kitchen scraps and coconut husks become compost for the soil.

The Kitchens

Lá Sen cooks Vietnamese food from the garden, beside the beach.

NAYUU is a Japanese restaurant with a 16 seat omakase counter and two seatings a night. Its name comes from the Japanese words for dream and love.

Café Nam Hai cooks Indian food from Hyderabad, Goa, Amritsar and Kashmir.

At the Cooking Academy, chefs teach Vietnamese cooking with what the garden grows.

Sol & Sao

Their beach bar, on the beachfront since 2025.

It follows the rhythm of the day, from morning espressos to cocktails under the stars and Vietnamese tapas.

You can sit under the palms by the three pools, or along the beach.

Ha My Beach

One kilometre of Ha My Beach, on the East Sea.

Kayaks, windsurfing and catamaran trips are complimentary, and none of them use a motor.

The Cham Islands are about an hour out to sea.

The Spa

The Heart of the Earth Spa follows the teaching of a Vietnamese Zen master.

In their words, “we are not separate from the Earth but at one with her”.

Eight treatment pavilions stand over a lagoon of lotus flowers and koi fish.

The spa is open from 9am to 9pm.
