A hand rendered clay archway leading through the rooms at The Hangart

The Story

The Hangart takes its name and its shape from the arched hangars of the old Nuoc Man airfield. The curve is still there, but the rooms under it are now hand rendered in clay, warm rose and terracotta, with soft light coming through openings cut into the vault. Inside there is a gallery of Vietnamese painting and sculpture, a shop of crafts and small goods made by hand, and workshops where you sit down and make something yourself, clay on the wheel, printing, embroidery. You walk in from a lawn through a wooden gate, and the whole place is built to be moved through slowly. Open every day from 10am to 8pm.
